Digital Marketing for Electricians in Northwest NC
Half your work is somebody with no power at nine at night. The other half is a planned job worth ten times as much. Those are two different searches, and most electricians only show up for one.
$499 a month. Cancel anytime. Wilkes, Watauga, Ashe and Avery counties, and beyond.
How do electricians get more work online?
Electricians get found two ways. Urgent calls — no power, tripping breakers, a burning smell — come almost entirely through the Google map results and are decided in under a minute. Planned work — panel upgrades, generators, EV chargers, rewiring, new construction — is researched on a website over days. A complete Google Business Profile handles the first. Service pages and real photos handle the second. YallClick does both for $499 a month across Wilkes, Watauga, Ashe and Avery counties.
The two customers you are actually serving
The first one has no power in half the house and small children. They are not comparing quotes. They want somebody who answers.
The second one has been thinking about a generator since the last time the power went out for four days. They will read your site, look at photos of panels you have actually installed, check whether you are licensed and insured, and take two weeks to decide. That job is worth many times the first one.
Most electrician websites are built for neither. They have one page called Services with a bulleted list, and a phone number in the footer.
The fix is not complicated. It is a listing built for the panic call and a set of real pages built for the planned one.
Where electrical work comes from around here
The map pack
Three businesses above the normal results, chosen by Google from your listing. This is where every urgent call is won or lost.
Panel and service upgrades
Older housing stock across all four counties means a steady stream of 100-amp panels that need replacing. High ticket, and searched by name.
Generators
After Helene, whole-home standby generators stopped being a luxury conversation in the High Country. Demand here is real and it is searched.
EV charger installation
A growing search with almost no local competition yet, and a customer who is already comfortable researching online.
Commercial and repeat accounts
Property managers, restaurants and offices who need somebody reliable. They find you once and keep you for years.
Second homes and rentals
In Watauga and Avery counties, owners and property managers hiring from out of state judge entirely on your listing and reviews.
What we do first for an electrical contractor
Urgent visibility first, then the high-ticket pages that pay for the year.
- Google Business Profile set up properly. Primary category Electrician, every service listed, service area matched to where you really go, and hours that reflect emergency availability.
- Licence and insurance stated plainly on the site and the listing. It sounds obvious and it is the single most common trust question electricians get.
- A page for each real service — panel upgrades, generator installation, EV chargers, rewiring, lighting, troubleshooting, new construction. Each one is a separate search.
- A page for each town you cover.
- Photos of finished panels and installs, every month. Clean work photographs well and sells better than any paragraph.
- A review system running from week one, asking every completed job, with no incentives and no filtering.
- Replies to every review, good and bad.
- Four Google posts a month — storm prep, generator season, a job you just finished.
Power reliability is now a selling point
Why generator searches matter in these counties
People in the High Country have long memories about outages, and the last two years sharpened that considerably. Long outages, downed lines and hundreds of poles replaced.
What that means commercially is that a conversation which used to be a luxury upsell is now something homeowners start themselves. They search for it, they read about it, and they want somebody local who has done it before.
Very few electricians in this market have a real page about generator installation. Most have a bullet point. That gap is worth money.
What we build for it
- A real generator installation page with photos
- Panel upgrade and EV charger pages
- Storm-season Google posts
- Second-home and property manager pages
- Ads ready for outage weeks
How long before the phone rings?
The Google listing moves first. Category and service-area fixes can change your map position within a couple of weeks.
Reviews build over one to three months, at the pace real jobs finish.
Service pages take one to three months to start ranking, and the high-ticket ones — generators, panels, EV chargers — are usually less contested than plain electrician searches, so they can come sooner.
If you need work in the next two weeks, that is Google Ads, and we will say so rather than pretending otherwise.
Electrician marketing questions
Which is worth more, emergency work or planned work?
Planned work, almost always, on ticket size. But emergency work is how a lot of customers meet you the first time. The right plan serves both rather than choosing.
Should I list my licence number on the site?
Yes. It is a trust signal, it is a common search, and in a trade where anyone can claim to be an electrician it separates you immediately.
Do EV charger installs really get searched here?
Less than in a city, more than most electricians expect, and with almost no local competition on the page. It is a cheap page to own now and an expensive one to catch up on later.
I get most work by word of mouth. Does this still apply?
Word of mouth mostly ends in a search now. Somebody gets your name from a neighbour and looks you up before calling. If what they find is thin or has one old review, the referral can die right there.
How do I get more reviews?
Ask every finished job with a link. What you cannot do is offer anything for a good review, screen out unhappy customers, or write them yourself — those carry federal penalties and get listings removed. We set up the version that is both compliant and effective.
Is Google Ads worth it for an electrician?
For panels, generators and emergency work, often yes. For general electrician searches it gets expensive fast. We run the numbers with you before you spend anything.
How much does it cost?
$499 a month, cancel anytime. Full detail on the Plans page.
Do you work with competing electricians?
Not in the same service area for the same work. We will tell you up front if that is a conflict.
