The student calendar. Around 21,800 students arrive in the middle of August and leave in early May. The town nearly empties over the winter holidays, dips hard at Fall Break, Thanksgiving and Spring Break, and swells again every fall Saturday when a 30,000-seat stadium fills up in a town of 19,000 people.
The tourism calendar. Leaf season, ski season and summer are three different customer sets with three different searches. Watauga County saw over half a billion dollars in visitor spending in 2024 and ranks in the top fifteen counties in the state for it.
The second-home calendar. Blowing Rock, Foscoe and the NC 105 corridor fill and empty on a schedule of their own, and those owners are often searching for a contractor from three hundred miles away.

Watauga County finished its fiber buildout in April 2025 — 160 miles of new construction, funded with $7.5 million from the county and built by Blue Ridge Energy and SkyLine and SkyBest, reaching more than 1,700 locations that had been unserved or underserved.

Our office is in Purlear, in Wilkes County, about forty-five minutes east of Boone on US 421. Our founder graduated from Appalachian State in 2019 and spent those years in this town. Wilkes County is also one of the five counties App State counts in its own regional economic impact area, so this is genuinely the same regional economy.
Do you work with businesses in Blowing Rock?
Yes. Blowing Rock is a different market from Boone even though it is fifteen minutes away — older, more affluent, more seasonal, far more boutique. We write it as its own market.
