Digital Marketing for Plumbers in Northwest NC
Most plumbing jobs are decided in about forty seconds by somebody standing in water. We make sure you are one of the three names they see.
$499 a month. Cancel anytime. Wilkes, Watauga, Ashe and Avery counties, and beyond.
How do plumbers get more calls online?
For a plumbing company, most new customers come from the Google map results rather than from a website. That means the three things that matter most are a complete, active Google Business Profile, a steady flow of recent reviews, and pages on your site for each service you offer in each town you cover. YallClick manages all of that for $499 a month for plumbers across Wilkes, Watauga, Ashe and Avery counties in North Carolina.
Your customer is not shopping. They are panicking.
Nobody browses for a plumber. There is water where water should not be, and they want it to stop.
So they grab a phone, type four words, and look at the map. Three businesses. They glance at the star rating, glance at whether it says open, and they call. If nobody answers, they call the next one. The whole decision takes less than a minute.
That is a brutal moment to compete in, and it is also a fair one. You do not need the prettiest website. You need to be in those three, to look trustworthy at a glance, and to pick up.
Here is the part most plumbing companies miss: you never find out about the ones you lost. No missed call, no voicemail. Somebody else fixed it and you never knew there was a job.
Where plumbing jobs actually come from around here
The map pack
The three businesses shown above the normal results. Built from your Google Business Profile, not your website. This is the whole ballgame for emergency work.
Your review count and recency
A five-star rating from 2021 loses to a 4.7 from last week. People read the most recent three and move on.
Empty second homes
In Watauga and Avery counties, a hard freeze in an unoccupied house means a burst pipe and an owner calling from three hundred miles away.
After-hours calls
Nights, weekends and holidays are when plumbing emergencies happen and when most of your competitors have voicemail on.
Well and septic country
A lot of this service area is on wells and septic. Those searches are specific, lower competition, and worth their own pages.
Planned work
Water heaters, repipes, bathroom remodels and fixture installs. Slower decisions, bigger tickets, and this is where the website earns its keep.
What we do first for a plumbing company
In this order, because the order matters more than the list.
- Fix the Google Business Profile before anything else. Primary category set to Plumber, every service listed, service area drawn to match where you actually go, hours correct including emergency availability.
- Start the review system in week one. A simple, compliant way to ask every finished job. No incentives, no filtering, no fake anything — that is illegal and it gets listings removed.
- Reply to every review, old and new. Including the bad ones, calmly. Most people read the reply.
- Real photos every month. Trucks, crews, finished work. Not stock photos of a wrench.
- A page for each service. Water heater repair, drain cleaning, repipes, well pumps, sewer line, emergency plumbing — each one its own page, because each one is its own search.
- A page for each town you cover, so somebody in Millers Creek or Boone finds you specifically.
- Click-to-call on every phone screen, at the top, where a wet, panicking person can hit it without thinking.
- Four Google posts a month — freeze warnings, seasonal reminders, jobs you just finished.
Winter is not the same here as it is in Charlotte
What the mountains do to your phone
A cold snap in this service area is a different event than a cold snap in the Piedmont. Elevation, older housing stock, and thousands of second homes sitting empty through a hard freeze.
When that happens, three things spike at once: emergency calls from residents, calls from property managers, and calls from owners who are hours away and cannot get here.
The businesses that catch that wave are the ones whose listing was already complete, whose hours already said what they mean, and who already had recent reviews when the search happened. You cannot set that up on the morning it freezes.
What we do about it
- Freeze-season pages published in early fall
- Google posts timed to actual cold snaps
- Emergency hours set correctly on the listing
- Property manager and second-home pages
- Ads ready to switch on for a hard freeze week
How long before the phone rings?
Google listing fixes move fastest. A corrected primary category and a properly drawn service area can change your map position within a couple of weeks.
Reviews build over one to three months, because real reviews come from real jobs and there are only so many in a month.
Service and town pages take one to three months to start ranking, longer in a competitive town.
If you need calls next week rather than next quarter, the honest answer is Google Ads while the rest builds underneath it. We will tell you that on the first call instead of taking a monthly fee and hoping.
Plumbing marketing questions
Do I need a website if the map pack matters most?
You get more from the map when you have one. Google looks at your website when it decides how much to trust your listing, and planned work — water heaters, remodels, repipes — is decided on a website, not in a forty-second panic. If you do not have one we build a five-page site for $637.50.
How do I get more reviews without breaking the rules?
Ask every finished job, in writing, with a link. What you cannot do is offer anything in exchange for a positive review, filter out unhappy customers before they can post, or write them yourself. Those carry real penalties under federal rules now. We set up the compliant version.
I only serve a certain radius. Will marketing bring me jobs too far away?
Not if the service area is set up properly. That is one of the first things we fix, and it is one of the most commonly wrong settings on plumbing listings.
Is Google Ads worth it for plumbing?
Often yes, because the intent is so high. Emergency plumbing clicks are not cheap, so the money is made in blocking the wrong searches and tracking calls properly. That is most of the work.
What about the big lead-generation apps?
They work, and you pay for every lead forever, and the customer belongs to them. Your own listing and site cost you once and keep paying. Most plumbers we talk to want to reduce their dependence on those, not add to it.
I am booked solid. Why would I do this?
Maybe you should not, this month. But being booked and being booked with the jobs you want are different things. Better visibility mostly means more choice about which jobs you take.
How much does it cost?
$499 a month, cancel anytime. Everything is on the Plans page.
Do you work with more than one plumber in the same town?
No. We will tell you if we already work with a direct competitor in your service area.
What we would do for you
Four counties, one phone number
Let us look at your listing before the next cold snap.
Free. Fifteen minutes. We will show you where you sit in the map results, what your reviews look like next to your competitors, and what to fix first.
