A destination valley with very few businesses in it
NC 194 runs the length of the valley, Broadstone Road cuts across toward NC 105, and Old Shulls Mill Road and DeWitt Barnett Road carry what is left. The whole community has been on the National Register since 1990 as North Carolina’s first rural historic district, which is a large part of why it looks the way it does and why people drive here on purpose.
