GOOGLE ADS AUDIT IN PURLEAR, NC

Read the account before changing anything in it

An audit is a read of where your money actually went, what the account counts as a lead, and which searches have been quietly spending for a year. For small businesses across Wilkes, Watauga, Ashe and Avery it is usually the fastest money back in the whole project.

WHY IT IS WORTH DOING

Why an existing account is worth reading first

Because the expensive problems in a small account are almost never the ones the owner is worried about, and because changing settings before reading the history is how good campaigns get broken.

The waste is already being spent

Search terms with no chance of buying, keywords costing several times what a lead costs you, networks switched on that bring cheap junk traffic. That money is leaving this week whether or not anybody looks.

It settles whether the account or the page is the problem

Plenty of accounts are bidding well and sending people to a page that cannot convert. Those two problems look identical in the dashboard and need completely different fixes.

History is worth more than opinion

Years of search terms, every keyword that ever produced a lead, and every one that never did. An account with history has already answered most of the questions a new campaign would have to guess at.

It stops a rebuild you did not need

A campaign with real conversion history is an asset. Starting over resets the learning and throws that away, so the audit decides honestly whether this one is worth keeping.

WHY PURLEAR BUSINESSES PICK YALLCLICK

Why small businesses here get a second set of eyes first

Five reasons, and the first one is the whole reason people ask for an audit rather than a proposal.

Read only access, and nothing is touched

The account is read before anything is recommended, and no setting changes without you saying so. An audit that starts by editing the account is not an audit.

No stake in the answer being yes

Sometimes the honest finding is that the account is run well and the problem is somewhere else, or that ads are the wrong buy for the margin on your jobs. You will hear that version too.

It gets priced against what a lead is worth to you

A sixty dollar lead is a bargain or a disaster depending on what a customer is worth. Working that number out first is what turns a list of observations into a decision.

Checked by hand, not by a scoring tool

The automated audits all flag the same harmless things and miss the expensive ones. Search terms, negatives, what is marked as a conversion and where the budget actually went have to be read by a person.

The findings are yours to keep

Written plainly, ranked by what each one is costing, with what to do about it. Use it yourself, hand it to whoever runs the account now, or put it out to quote.

WHAT WE FIX

What an audit usually turns up

After enough of these the list is predictable. These four account for most of the money found in a small local account.

Conversions that are not really conversions

A page view, a click on a number, or nothing tracked at all. Everything downstream is unreliable, including the bidding, which has been learning from the wrong behaviour for months.

A negative keyword list that stopped growing

Job seekers, price shoppers, competitor names, do it yourself searches and whole services the business does not offer. Negatives need adding every week, and almost no small account has had them touched since launch.

Search Partners and Display left switched on

On by default, rarely turned off, and a reliable source of cheap clicks that never become customers. In a small budget it can be most of the spend.

Targeting set wider than the business works

A radius covering counties the trucks never reach, or settings that show the ad to anyone merely interested in the area. Easy to fix and usually worth money the same week.

HOW IT WORKS

How an audit runs

It starts with a free ten minute look, because that is usually enough to tell whether a paid audit would find anything worth the fee.

STEP 1

A free look and a number

Read only access, plus a rough idea of what a customer is worth to you. Ten minutes is normally enough to say whether the account has an obvious problem or needs a proper read.

STEP 2

Check what is being counted first

Conversions, what is marked as the goal, whether calls are tracked, and whether anything is being double counted. Nothing in the reports can be trusted until this is settled.

STEP 3

Read the money, all of it

Search terms since the account opened, every keyword against what the account itself pays per lead, negatives, match types, ad groups, networks, locations, devices, schedule, budget and the bid strategy against the stage the account is actually at.

STEP 4

Rank the findings by what they cost

Three to five things in order, each with what it is costing and what to do about it, separated into fix this week and fix later. Written so you could hand it to somebody else and they would know what to do.

How an audit is paid for

The first ten minutes are free and often enough to answer the question. A full audit is quoted on scope before any work starts, because an account with three years of history and six campaigns is not the same job as one that launched in the spring. If you hand the account over to be managed, the audit is simply the first thing done and it is part of that rather than an extra charge. Either way the findings are yours, nothing in the account is changed without your approval, and the account stays in your name.

Rated 5 out of 5

“I couldn’t be happier with the website he created for my business. He took the time to understand exactly what I needed, made the whole process super smooth, and delivered a site that looks professional, clean, and perfectly aligned with my brand. Communication was great the entire time, and he went above and beyond to make sure everything turned out right. I highly recommend him if you want quality work and someone who genuinely cares about the final product.”

“Hello, my name is Joel Gray, and I’m the Pastor of the Vision Baptist Church in Millers Creek, NC. The church was interested in getting a new website that would accommodate the ministry in allowing people to obtain information about the church. Chris has accomplished this goal for us through the website he created. Now people can gain knowledge of the church, listen to preaching, and order printed literature (KJV only) such as tracts and booklets free of charge. Thanks to Chris, we’ve already had some orders for printed literature from the website. To God be the Glory, and thank you Chris for the service you provide!”

WHERE WE DO THIS WORK

Where we audit accounts

Accounts are read remotely so the location does not change the work, but it changes the judgment. Knowing that search volume in Lansing and search volume in Boone are different problems is part of reading whether a campaign is underperforming or simply out of market. Each place below has its own page.

QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED

Straight answers about an ads audit

These come up whenever somebody suspects their account is leaking. Anything else, ask when we talk.

Read only access to the Google Ads account, and ideally your website and Google profile as well since the three affect each other. Plus a rough idea of what a customer is worth to you. Nothing gets changed with read only access, so there is no risk in granting it, and you can remove it in two clicks.

Not unless you want me to. Plenty of these are second opinions on work somebody else is doing, and that is a normal thing to want. The findings go to you and what you do with them is your business. You will also get told if the account is being run well, because sometimes it is.

The free look is ten minutes. A full audit is usually a few days depending on how much history the account has, because the search terms report is the slow part and it is also where most of the money is. You get the findings as a written document rather than a call you have to take notes on.

Yes, but it is a separate decision and quoted separately. The audit is deliberately useful on its own so you can hand it to whoever runs the account now. If you do want it fixed here, the audit becomes the first step of managing the account rather than a charge on top.

Then that is what the audit says. It happens often: the bidding is reasonable, the searches are right, and the page people land on gives them nothing to do. That is a landing page problem, not an account problem, and no amount of bid tuning will fix it. You will get told which one yours is.

Usually yes, and small accounts are often where the proportion of waste is highest, because nobody has had a reason to prune them. If you are spending a few hundred a month and a third of it is going to searches that cannot buy, that is real money in a small business. If the free look says there is nothing worth charging you for, that is what you will hear.

RELATED SERVICES

What an audit usually leads to

Not always more work, and not always here. But these are the three it points at most often.

Google Ads Management

Taking the account on and running it on calls and booked jobs. The audit is the first step of that, so nothing is paid for twice.

Conversion Tracking

The most common single finding, and the one that has to be fixed before any other number in the account can be believed.

Google Ads Landing Pages

Where the audit lands when the account is fine and the page is not, which is more often than most owners expect.

Marketing Consulting

The wider version of the same job, covering the profile, the site and the search work rather than the ads account alone.
